Using FTP to Backup WHMCS

[ March 6, 2018 ]

  1. Login to WHMCS as Administrator.
  2. Go to Setup >> Other >> Database Backups.
  3. Fill FTP login details and email for notification.
  4. Click Save Changes.

For WHMCS files you need to manually backup and upload to your FTP account via FTP client software. The reason there is no auto backup feature for the WHMCS file is because the most important file is from the WHMCS database. As for files only need to be backed up each time you make changes such as uploading new modules, changing configuration.php, upgrading, or uploading new files in WHMCS where whmcs do not use internal media storage like wordpress, so file changes are very rare.
